Just over 3 years ago, almost to the day, I began my journey as a healer. As I began to explore my gifts and learn about a subject I knew little of, particularly in this new context. My previous experience with even the idea of healing energy was the Holy Spirit from the Bible. This resonated with me based on an experinece I had about 30 years ago, which in the Bible is referred to as " the baptism of the Holy Spirit, evident with speaking in tongues.' This is what I now refer to as a "Divine Language" and this is a gift that I utilize, along with the energy tangibly flowing through my hands. 

When earning my Reiki Master Certification, there were many things that resonated well with me. One of which is the 5 principals of Reiki: 1. Just for today I will not anger 2. Just for today I will not worry. 3. Just for today I will be grateful for all my blessings. 4. Just for today I will work with honesty and integrity. 5. Just for today I will be kind to all living beings.  This remains part of my daily affirmations...no religion required.

When learning about Sekhem and it's roots in ancient Egypt and the feeling of connection to both those roots and the journey of a Sekhem healer, along with my initial thought of "I think this is different from Reiki" when trying to figure out what the energy was, that flowed through my hands.

All of this (and more) has brought me to the point of understanding that regardless of the different labels for energy work, regardless of their history, they all ultimately come from one Divine Source. Even though I am a Certified Reiki Master, I am an Energy Healer, or just Healer. 

I was given the gift of healing. It is my hearts desire to share it with you.

It's been about two and half years since I unwittingly began my journey as an Energy Healer. The gift of Sekhem Energy was given to me. It was not something I intentionally pursued. In the midst of a very difficult time of my life, God decided it would be a great time to interject a whole lot of Divine chaos. Paradigms shifted...I thought my life was falling apart, then I realized it was and it did. Over a decade with one company, gone. Family betrayls, yep. Gossip, defemation of character, yep. Financial ruin, yep. Loss of friend network, yep.  Just to name a few. This journey I did not ask for cost me everything... 

However, it also provided the opportunity to overcome childhood traumas, address and heal from lifelong and even recent abuse, I've learned my value, I've learned how to love unconditionally, I've learned how to become my true authentic self (not ruled by my ego), I've learned the value and benefits that can come from being alone, I've learned the value of authenticity, to be kind without being a people pleaser, to forgive when "they" aren't even sorry, I have learned strength and resilience, I've learned more about my purpose on this planet, I have gained maturity, knowledge and wisdom, just to name a few...I've learned what was previously destroyed  was built on a foundation that could not support the best version of myself. While the external losses (conditions and circumstances) have been brutal, I am more grateful for the internal gains I have worked for and received. I'm grateful for my new, well-earned foundation.

When I first realized (on 12/31/20) there was a "magnetic type" of energy that was now flowing through my body, particularly my hands, I didn't know what it was...and still didn't until recently.

My only knowledge of "energy work" at that time was of Reiki and that knowledge was limited to "I've heard of it, but I have no idea what it is."  For the first several months as I began to experiment, learn, explore my new gift, I couldn't shake the feeling and even often stated that what I had was "different from Reiki."

However, with Reiki being more prevalent in my area and my limited knowledge of even knowing where to begin to look, I purchased and took a Reiki training course. The 5 priciples of Reiki and much of the course resonated well with me. However, I did not participate in/partake of any of the "attunements", meditations, or use of sacred symbols. Based on the course itself and my own experience in utilizing my gifts, my gifts were at the level of a Reiki Master...bear in mind this was/is directly from my Divine Source. I don't say that as a brag, but in amazement and to give credit where credit is due.

Through continued discovery, I came across Sekhem Energy. While it is very similar to Reiki, it is different. It operatees at a slightly different (some say higher) frequency than that of Reiki (or other energy healing modalities). In limited reading thus far, the "initiate" typically has there life ruined, experinces an ego death, etc., (see above). As I read about Sekhem, I knew I had found what my intuition was trying to tell me in the very begining. This also helped explain to me my lifelong feeling of connectivty to Egypt (and Atlantis, yes I believe it was real).

With all of the bumps, bruises, and challenges along the way, I'm grateful for all that I have gained, for all that I have learned and will continue to learn. It also seems that the more I learn, the more there is to learn. Spiritual awakening, enlightenment, these too are journey's and not destinations.

Life is a journey best suited with an open mind. I will continue to seek truth and remain open to the possibilites this life has to offer...and as always, adjust accordingly.
